Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 87 === The study aims to understand the thinking styles of Hualien elementary school students, and investigate the influence of race, gender, age and parenting styles on children’s thinking styles. The sample of this study were from the fourth and sixth grade aboriginal and non-aboriginal elementary school students in Hualien County. 938 valid samples were stratified random sampling from twenty public elementary schools in Hualien County. The instruments of study were “Elementary Students’ Thinking Styles Questionnaire” and “Parenting Styles Scale.” The results were analyzed based on t-test, one way ANOVA, and Scheff’e method. The conclusions of this study were as the following: 1. The thinking styles of elementary school students in Hualien tended to be executive style in function, monarchic style in form, global style in level, external style in scope, and conservative style in leaning. 2. Aboriginal students and Non-aboriginal students were significantly different concerning monarchic style, hierarchic style, global style and local style. Non-aboriginal students showed more of these styles, as compared to aboriginal students. 3. Significant difference was found between boys and girls. Girls had more tendency toward executive style, monarchic style, hierarchic style, oligarchic style, global style and local style, as compared to boys. Boys tended to have more of the anarchic style, as compared to girls. 4. Significant difference was found between the fourth graders and the sixth graders. The fourth graders showed more executive style, judicial style, oligarchic style, and local style, as compared to the sixth graders. The sixth graders showed more anarchic style, as compared to the fourth graders. 5. Significant correlation was found between parenting styles and children’s thinking styles. Children of anarchic thinking style were under indulgent parenting. Children of other twelve thinking styles were under authoritative parenting. The above research results and findings were for the reference of teacher and further study.
