Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast quality-of-Life Instrument (FACT-B),Infertility Questionnaire (IFQ),Norbeck Social support Questionnaire (NSSQ).Eighty subjects of infertile women
undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment recruited
from two medical centers in Taipei. Data were statistically analyzed by means of descriptive analysis, One-way ANOVA, Spearman correlation and multiple regression. The major
findings of this study were as following:
1. Generally speaking,infertile women undergoing IVF treatment did not have high life quality.The mean score on physical well-being was the highest;function well-being was the lowest.
2. In the sexuality section of the Infertility Questionnaire was the highest.
3. The scare of overall social support Questionnaire was not high.The mean scare on emotional support was the lowest.Social support was mainly from family and its rate was 69.7%.The most important support was from her spouse.Besides her spouse, her mother was also an important support.
4. Among the demographic factors,infertile women’artificial abortion is positively related with life quality.The infertility distress was negatively correlation,and social support was positively correlation.
5. Infertile women’life quality could be influence by three factors:their sense of guilt,emotional support and artificial abortion.The total variance was 56.1%. The most influential factor was sense of guilt.
This research is helper for understanding the life quality of infertile women undergoing IVF treatment, so that medical staff can give them appropriate assistance and support,that can help them to promote life quality.
