Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 護理研究所 === 87 === Quasi-experimental research design was employed for this set of study. The objective of this study is to explore the effectiveness of continuous quality improvement model for nursing care on patient outcome indicator. In order to fulfill this goal, the researcher chose two issues concerning medication errors and nursing care quality on pressure sore as patient outcome indicator based upon which after long-term (time between April 1998 and April 1999) evaluation and quality planning on the patients and nursing staffs both from a local teaching hospital. Strategies and activities that related to continuous quality improvement model were under way to test in experimental group including patients and nursing staffs from January 1999 to April 1999. Results from medication error part indicated significant differences between the control and experiment groups in first month; suggesting that quality control for experiment group play a pivatol role in reducing medication errors. Again, the increasing differences in reducing medication errors between the control and experiment groups were noted with longer periods of time. Performance in medication error from the control group exhibited worse as compared to experiment group with increasing time. As to results from nursing care quality on pressure sore, significant improvement occurred on the experiment group only at the time of third month. Incidence rate for pressure sore by quality control decrease with increasing time; but no significant difference between the two groups in report rate. Based upon those results from this research, continuous quality improvement model can provide nursing administrators a tool to improve outcomes for patients and promote quality of nursing care.
