First, this study draws on resource scarcity , agency and transaction cost theories raised by experts. Then two-stage cluster analysis is utilized to cluster the franchisors. Next, it establishes eleven variables which may influence the types of running franchising. And regression analysis is used to test the significant variables of franchising system. Last, according to four aspects-channel control, franchisor service, franchisee risk and franchisor’s capital constraints raised by Sen, this study sets up the model of payment design. Again regression analysis is used to test the significant variables of payment design. The investigations of the empirical analysis are as following: (1) Three strategic groups -Rapid Grower, Successful, and Conservation-are clustered after cluster analysis. (2) Three variables influence the franchising system:size, C/L, contractor length. The empirical analysis also indicates that the different variables affect different strategic groups. In Rapid Grower, two variables affect the types of franchising:C/L and Domestic/Foreign franchisor. In Conservation, three variables affect the types of franchising:size, franchise fee, and contractor length. (3) In payment design, the empirical analysis indicates that channel control, franchisor service, and franchisee risk are the important factors influencing the payment design. 陳世良 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 127 zh-TW
