Second, to investigate the differences in their quality of school life in three respects of the following variables: the personal background(sex, disability level, placement in elementary school), the family background (the socioeconomic status of family, other mental-retarded family), and the school background(grades, current placement). The survey questionnaire were sent to 240 students with mental retardations. The assessing instrument was “The Quality of School Life Qustionnaire”. The data obtained were analyzed by the means, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The main findings were summarized as follows: 1. The quality of school life of mental- retarded students at junior high school was positive. 2. There was no significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different sexes at junior high school. 3. There was no significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different disability level at junior high school. 4. There was a significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different placement in elementary school at junior high school. 5. There was a significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different socioeconomic status of family at junior high school. 6. There was a significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with other mental-retarded family at junior high school. 7. There was a significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different living status at junior high school. 8. There was no significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different grades at junior high school. 9. There was a significant difference in quality of school life of mental- retarded students with different current placement at junior high school.
