Much of the research in this area has focused on providing maximal bandwidth efficiency and has therefore employed M-ary phase shift keying or quadrature amplitude modulation (MPSK and QAM, respectively ) on the subcarriers. In this paper, we discuss how to design a receiving system of multi-tone modulated signals in the AWGN channel when the carrier frequencies of received signals are unknown. We design the structure and operating procedures of the receiving system. It is necessary to ascertain whether multi-tone modulated signals are received so we design the detection module and verification module in the receiving system.
