As opposed to the one-tier structure, it integrates a high-tier radio system and a low-tier radio system together, which can overlap with each other in their cells. Better service quality and more channel reuse can be provided by such two-tier structure. In this paper, we consider the location tracking problem under such infrastructure. We show an efficient distance-based strategy for a mobile terminal to update its location and for a caller to search for the terminal to establish a connection. Factors such as the mobile terminal roaming speed, roaming direction, mobility pattern, and frequently visited locations are taken into account in designing our strategy. A simulation evironment is designed to model a mobile subscriber's mobility pattern and to verify the proposed strategy. Yu-Chee Tseng Jang-Ping Sheu 曾煜棋 許健平 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 36 en_US
