Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 太空科學研究所 === 87 === Ultra-low frequency ( ULF ) plasma waves are persistent phenomena of the magnetosphere. The purpose of this dissertation is to develop the curvilinear field-line coordinates for an arbitrary magnetospheric magnetic field geometry and to model the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) wave propagation in Earth’s magnetosphere. The linear MHD equations are solved numerically and applied to study the wave propagation in both box and dipole field models. For nondipole field geometries, we have developed a scheme of generating the numerical grids and the corresponding scale factors.
