Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 交通運輸研究所 === 87 === Mass transit station is the interface point for passengers to enter and leave the system. Facilities layout of station is important, since it affects service performance of transit station. The main objective of this research is to compare the design criteria of Planning Manual in domestic and abroad, and to explore possible improvements of the design concept, criteria and standard, being used in Taipei Transit Station Planning Manual. The results obtained in this research are expected to provide as a reference for the planning of new mass transit stations in other cities. The location and quantity of major facilities are the key factors to affect service level of transit stations. There are three major items in this study. The first is to compare the Planning Manual of Taipei and other countries. The second is to collect real passenger walking flow data in Kuting station and used it to calibrate validate the selected simulation model-PEDROUTE. The last is to compare the level of service of major facilities under different design criteria; including stairs, elevators, escalators, passageway, concourse, fare collection system and platform. The simulation model is also used to predict the effects of improvement for various alternatives on the bottlenecks of Kuting station. It is found out that the fare collection gate and ticket vending equipment design standard of Taipei Transit Station Planning Manual is under estimated, and is suggested to properly revised. The result of simulation study reveals that escalators and fare collection gates will become the bottleneck in Kuting station in the planning target year, more facilities is suggested to be added.
