Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 電機工程學系 === 87 === This thesis presents the design, implementation, and extensive measurements of a microwave sampler system for spectrum analyzer applications. The sampler system consists of a sampler, a comb generator, a frequency synthesizer, an IF amplifier circuit and a prescaler (frequency divider). The RF band of the sampler covers from 3.52 to 6.56 GHz. The desired IF signal of the sampler is produced by the sample and hold technique. The sampler uses the single-balanced sampling diode mixer to achieve good LO-RF and LO-IF isolation. The comb generator uses a shunt step recovery diode (SRD) to produce the sampling pulses. The comb generator is driven by a 280-300 MHz frequency synthesizer. The pass-band of a bandpass filter (BPF) after the IF port of the sampling mixer is from 60 to 100 MHz. An IF amplifier is placed to boost the signal level before the IF signal entering the prescaler. The dividing value of the prescaler is chosen by 10 to produce the TTL output of 6 to 10 MHz to be processed by the micro-controller. This is to pre-tune the first local oscillator for producing an accurate LO signal which is very important for the spectrum analyzer operation.
