Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 測量工程學系 === 87 === A complete set of digital topographic map data is the foundation of NLIS(National Land Information System) applications. Yet, the management, maintenance, and supply of digital topographic maps in an affective way remains to an important issue of automated catographic.
In order to effectively manages digital topographic maps, this research employs the adaptive recursive tessellation (ART) indexing method to establish a data bank, which can provide multiple-scale map and query of various map features. Taking advantage of the hierarchical data structure of adaptive recursive tessellation, users may flexibly and efficiently organize and manage digital topographic map data to suit their applications. This thesis demonstrates that ART is extremely beneficial to the management of digital topographic maps. Not only does it make up for the weaknesses in existing topographic map management systems, it may also prove to be a system with great potential for integrated geographic map data in the future.
