The impact and multiplier analysis was performed through regional input-output model for TSIP. Unfortunately, the publishment of regional input-output table has been stopped since 1981. Therefore, firstly we need to estimate the input coefficients and to update the regional input-output table for year 1994 using RAS procedures. From the update regional input-output table, We then use the impact and multiplier analysis to forecast the changes of output, income, and employment in each region of Taiwan after TSIP established. Finally, we evaluate the impact of TSIP on the balance of regional development in Taiwan. The major findings include:(1) The Northern Region will have the most significant economical effects during the developmental period of TSIP, Which amounts to 40~50% of the total effects in Taiwan. The key effected industries would be basic products, non-metallic mineral products, metal products, and service industries. (2) In operational period of TSIP, the Southern Region will have the most significant economical effects, which amounts over 60% of the total effects in Taiwan. The most significantly effected industries in Southern Region would be electrical power and electronic machinery, refined machinery, and service industries, which in other regions would be wholesale and retail, trade, and service industries. (3) The establishment of TSIP tends to have positive effects reducing the development discrepancy between Northern and Southern Regions. However, the discrepancy between Central and Southern Regions would be slightly encouraged. Yu-Sheng Chiang 姜渝生 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 137 zh-TW
