The study on the interface property of the splittable sufactant solution

碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 化學工程學系 === 87 === The purpose of this work is to study the interfacial properties of aqueous solutions of splittable surfactants (Triton Sp-190 and 175). Providing selection criteria of surfactant leaching solution for contaminated soil remediation is to be aimed at. Triton X-100...

Providing selection criteria of surfactant leaching solution for contaminated soil remediation is to be aimed at. Triton X-100,which is similar in chemical structure to Triton SP, is used as a comparable surfactant. Equilibrium surface tension, dynamic surface tension, and critical micelle concentration were measured for the surfactant leaching solutions. The present study, however, focuses on pH effect on the above-mentioned properties. The experimental results reveal that equilibrium surface tension is almost not influenced by pH values. This implies that critical micelle concentrations of splittable surfactants studied can not be changed by pH in the solution. On the other hand, pH is found to be a significant parameter influencing the relaxation phenomena at gas/liquid interface. For the surfactants, the mass transfer in the bulk solution and the adsorption/desorption steps at air/water interfaces are also studied by means of the dynamic tension measurement. Furthermore, the experimental results of acid-base neutralization indicate that the splitting reaction of splittable surfactant molecules by the addition of acid is irreversible. Besides, the splittable surfactants are new surfactants , which are developed recently. But there is no information about the structures and the molecular weight of splittable surfactants now. In order to discriminate the change of the structure of splittable surfactants after adding acid in the solution, the measurements of UV and MASS have carried out in this study.
