Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 土木工程學系 === 87 === The paper is focused on the study of the special designed so called strengthen fluid damper. The damper is used as the key element for energy dissipation applied in structure control purpose. The so called strengthen damper is designed by adding levers in the system. Imcomplete piston with various thickness is also designed as well. Properties and the damping force induced is investigated by series of tests. It is believed that the proposed damper can be used as the energy disspation element for the real structures. By the data collected from tests, it can be concluded that: 1.The capability of the proposed damper which are designed with levers can be really strengthened as expected. 2.The thickness of piston is one of the factor affect the damping force of the dampers. It is expected that an optimum thickness is existed for different type of dampers, which maximum damping force can be induced. 3.Linear relationships between damping force and relative velocity between tube and piston can be suitable for low frequency motion(i.e., frequency is 0.4Hz~4.0Hz), while nonlinear relationship is needed to model the high frequency cases.
