Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 園藝學系 === 87 === The main purpose of this study is to probe if there are differences of riding motivations and the recognition of the importance of environmental attributes for riding trail among different bicycle riders. In addition, the study also tries to examine if bicycle riders would have different environmental perceptions that affect their riding experience.
The study uses a structured-direct questionnaire as a survey instrument. Through using simple random sampling, systematic sampling, and convenience sampling in three bicycle routes, the study obtains 523 valid samples. Several statistical techniques, such as descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, Chi-square test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, are applied to describe the results and examine the research hypotheses. Based on the results, the study proposes five conclusions as followings:
1. Bicycle riders'' motivation will be affected by the educational level and riding partners.
2. Bicycle riders'' recognition about the importance of riding environmental attributes will be affected by gender, age, educational level, monthly income, occupation, martial status, riding partners and residential location.
3. Riding environment will affect riders'' motivation. The length of trail, the separation with mobile trail, the open-wideness, nature, diversity, complexity, inexplicability, uniqueness, harmonization, and integration of the surrounding landscape will have an effect on riders'' motivation. Thus, riders with different riding motivations will have different satisfactions on environmental attributes.
4. Bicycle riders'' satisfactions on environmental attributes will be affected by their riding motivations. The satisfaction of environmental attributes for trail, such as the length of trail, the curve, the slope, the width, the pavement, the separation with mobile trail, resting and service facilities of riding trail will be influenced by riders'' riding motivation. Therefore, riders with different riding motivations will have different satisfactions on environmental attributes.
5. Bicycle riders'' satisfaction of the entire activity and satisfaction at various environmental attributes are significantly correlated. The trail with shading facility is the most significant variable out of all.
