Copper is one of the main pollutants in Chuwei mangrove. The purposes of this study were to examine the copper concentration and effects of copper pollution on the mangrove habitat by mean of soil and tissue analysis. Because of fine texture, rich in organic matter and periodical flooding, mangrove soils are susceptible to copper accumulation. Copper concentration(0.1NHCl extracted) in Chuwei mangrove soil is 90.5±17ppm. While the maximum copper adsorption capacity of soil is 2632±265ppm. There is still some capacity available for trapping copper in mangrove soils. With the function of water purifying, mangrove habitat can be as a vegetative buffer strips for filtering pollutants in estuary. Obvious accumulation of copper(101.5±23.79ppm) in crabs can be examined in the mangrove ecosystem. Copper pollution should be concerned in the system for the phenomenon of copper accumulation. 顏正平 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 53 zh-TW
