To ensure the accuracy of the test results, the control of good flow quality in the test section of the tunnel is essential. Therefore, the design and construction of the wind tunnel becomes extremely important. Experiments are carried out in a open wind tunnel located at the Department of Civil Engineering of National Chung-Hsing University so as to verify its flow performance and to confirm the original design concerns. The results of the measurements, including mean and fluctuating velocity profiles at various cross-sections within the contraction and the test section, are compared to those predicted by the numerical method by Fang(1997). The result shows that the tunnel flow is in good agreement with that is predicted and the flow quality of the tunnel is well acceptable for aerodynamic wind tunnel studies.
