Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 87 === Composite beams have been widely used in both building and bridge structures. The specified composite beams in this research consist of w-shaped rolled shapes, concrete, formed steel decks, and shear connectors. The current AISC manuals provide two specifications for analysis and design, which include the ASD (Allowable Stress Design) and the LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design). The AISC/ASD specifications provide engineers with the tools for analyzing the required section properties, however, this is not enough for the general practicing engineers, especially the fresh engineers. The study gives the derivations of the formulas listed in the specifications and show how the allowable moments of various composite beams are obtained. The comparison between the theoretical and the tabled values of the manual is also conducted. The AISC/LRFD provides only the design moment strength and the low bound moment of inertia of various composite sections. The research shows how the formulas are derived and the difference between the theoretical and the listed values. The study surveys the difference of two AISC specifications and compares various composite sections in the two AISC manuals. The final conclusions and suggestions are drawn and hope that they will raise the analysis and design at a high lever for the practicing engineers.
