This new DEC-NLO chromophore molecule was then crosslinked with MMA by thermal process under electric field poling to form a new thermosetting NLO polymer . High second harmonic generation signals were observed for the polymeric systems with higher NLO chromophore content , as well as with those higher crosslinking densities . Besides , the polymeric systems with higher electric field poling also exhibited higher second harmonic generation intensities . The extents of chromophores alignment can be detected by UV-Visible spectra . After poling , the absorbance strength dropped down and bring about increasing of order parameter . Besides , the polymeric systems with higher order parameter also exhibited higher second harmonic generation intensities . The polymeric systems with higher crosslinking densities and higher extents of cure exhibited lower dielectric relaxation strength and trend to form more well-distribution configurations .
