This work presents a cluster-based code assignment technique to avoid hidden terminal interference. The proposed clustering algorithm reduces the frequency of reconfiguration in clusters when the topology changes. A two-layer code assignment scheme is developed that applies the cluster formation to eliminate the hidden terminal problem. The proposed scheme can be applied concurrently within each cluster instead of sequential enforcement. It also allows for regional updating of orthogonal codes when the topology varies.
