The high technology industry requires highly-automated equipment with high precision, which is usually expensive but devaluated fast. Thus, the high technology industry usually has high maintenance cost. It turns out that maintenance becomes one of the key factors for manufacturing competitiveness. This research is focus on the maintenance model and maintenance policy issues for high technology industry under the TPM system. The TPM system consists three different types of maintenance, which are preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and the daily routine service. In this research, it includes the development of optimal maintenance model and policy for the preventive maintenance and daily routine service when considering different performance measures. A decision support system for finding a better maintenance model and policy is also development. The results of this research will provide useful maintenance models and policies for the high technology industry with applying the TPM system to reduce machine failure rate and to improve the productivity and competitiveness.
