Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程學系 === 87 === Spin coating is a widely used process for applying a thin uniform film to a flat substrate. This paper is to study the spreading of liquid drops on solid surfaces under the rotating slab by using the method of molecular dynamics. The Lennard-Jones model and chain model will be taken to simulate the potential of liquid drops spreading on dummy solid surfaces. During the research, we are going to observe the behavior of spreading of liquid drops on solid surfaces, and the final equilibrium state of spreading for the whole system. In the meantime, we try to derive the relation between the radius-growth rate as well as its effect by regulating the rotating speed of the slab. Simulations show that the spreading rate is increased as the rotating speed is upgraded, and the spreading radii varying with time can be described by a general relation of R2(t) ~ t, which is in agreement with results obtained by previous investigators. Results also indicate the spreading rate is strongly related to the strength of the potential ratio between liquid and solid as well as its effect by changing the rotating speed of the system.
