Therefore, the methods of item generation and evaluation are proposed. Concept mapping is often used to diagnose students'''' misconception. In tradition, it often uses the interview or paper test to diagnose students. But using this method costs a lot of time to develop a test and evaluate the results. Therefore, this thesis uses the computer technology to create a diagnostic environment to help teachers to understand students'''' learning status. The test development system is basing on the conceptual graph and it is also the pre-process of the diagnostic system. To generate items from one conceptual graph, the conceptual graph should be separated into many basic propositions, called basic item proposition, and then compound various basic item propositions into effective items. There are many item types according to test methods but this paper only focus on true-false item and multiple-choice item that often used in computer-assisted test. In diagnose system, students'''' learning status is evaluating and recording dynamically. After each item test, system will construct the conceptual graph of a student and then evaluation it.
