Also there is the study on whether the dynamic evolution process is different for long-term performance of manufacturers due to changes in strategic group structure. In order to verify the theoretical viewpoint, 12 car manufacturers in the domestic car industry in Taiwan for the past 19 years are the research targets for physical verifications and analysis. From the studies on related essays and aiming at the purpose of this research, nine variables are being formulated. Amongst them there are seven research variables corresponding to the range of product lines and are obtained based on collection of data. The corresponding vertical integration level and the relationships with technical principal manufacturer etc. are the other two other variables which are obtained by sending research questionnaires to senior middle management of various car manufacturers. Based on the returning 25 questionnaires (effective return rate is 69.4%) and after conducting statistical analysis using methods such as factor analysis, group analysis, card verification and variables analysis, the physical verification results of various research postulations are obtained separately. From this physical verification analysis, the discoveries of this research are summarized as follows:1. The static of strategic group, competition positioning and performance(1) For Taiwan domestic manufactured industry, in various stages they all have 2-3 different strategic groups.(2) Between different strategic groups, there are significant differences in the competition strategies of these manufactures.(3) No matter in what period, there are differences in the average performance of different strategic groups and especially there are significant differences in market occupancy rate.2. The dynamics of strategic group structure, competition repositioning and performance(1) There are changes in strategic group structure in Taiwan’s domestic automobile industry and there are differences between this period and the previous period.(2) There are changes in the competition repositioning of Taiwan’s domestic automobile manufacturers under this long period..(3) There are changes in the performance (especially market occupancy rate) due to changes in strategic group structure, The research nucleus of this essay is strategic group.close to 19 years of these nine research variables information have been collected and analyzed which is like the history of car industry development in Taiwan.
