Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國醫藥學院 === 醫學研究所 === 87 === Cell to cell communication via gap junctions is essential in the maintenance of the homeostatic balance of multicellular organisms. Results have been shown that gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) is reduced in many tumor cells. However , the role of gap junctions in colonal mucosa is not clear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the distribution of gap junction-specific proteins in human colon mucosa .Using immunohistochemical and morphometrical analysis , the expression of connexin32 in tumor tissue significantly increased as compared to surrounding non-tumor tissue. The Western blot analysis also demonstrated that connexin32 protein increased in colon cancer compared with non-tumor tissue. These data suggest that alterations in the regulation of connexin32 expression are associated with and may contribute to the carcinogenesis in colon cancer.
