Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械與航太工程研究所 === 87 === The objective of this project is to develop proper cutting technologies for fabricating stator guide blades of the gas turbine directly from a titanium alloy disk body. CAD/CAM software package CADDS5 is employed to build the blade model and to establish the tool path. 3-axis vertical machining center with command input dividing head is used for cutting blades.
Micro grain carbide end milling cutters are employed and effects of various parameters on tool failure have been studied, such as cutting speed, feed, depth of cut, and stepover. Therefore, proper operating conditions are determined.
Proper tool paths and material model are selected; Waste material between adjacent blades are removed by bend sawing and drilling before CAM machining processes.Operating conditions are so selected that tool life is within acceptable range. Therefore, machining time is reduced considerably. Accuracy and surface roughness of the machined blades are inspected and also considered acceptable.
