In this paper, zinc-nickel alloy is used for corrosion protection. The effects of various process parameters on electro-plating are investigated, and the optimum conditions of electrodeposition and significant factors of performances are obtained through the Taguchi orthogonal design. It has been shown that the current density and concentration of Ni2+ are significant factors affecting the content of nickel in the alloy film. The corrosion resistance is significantly affected by the factors such as : interaction factor of Ni2+ and Zn2+, interaction factor of Ni2+,brightener, ratio of Ni-T/Ni-S and concentration of Ni2+. The optimum conditions for obtaining the maximum nickel content in the alloy film are as followed: the concentrations of nickel, zinc and brightener are 2.0g/l, 6.5g/l and 12c.c/l, respectively, the ratio of Ni-T/Ni-S is 2 and the current density is 6A/dm2.
