Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 土木工程學系 === 86 === Due to the fact of widespread use of curved bridges, seismic design of them has become an issue confronted frequently by designers. Although the approximate solution of curved bridges can be obtained by ultilizing a great number of general straight beam elements spreading over densely, this is however not an ideal approach owing to its incapability for taking warping efects into account and because of the tedious computational procedures involved. On the other hand, although the alternative approach for ultilizing sophisticated curved beam elements not only can obtain much more reliable solutions than those from previous approach but also may reduce the number of elements required to a great extent, it is not yet widely used in practice due to its abstruseness in theory and formulation concerned. In this research, a systematical seismic analysis of curved bridges will be performed by ultilizing curved beam elements first. The sensitive parameters affecting the base shear of buttresses significantly will then be sieved out. Finally, a series of transformation curves would be established such that the original gross results of seismic analysis performed upon the straight bridges having a total span equal to the curved bridge considered may be transformed into the refine precise ones through the use of transformation curves mentioned before.
