碩士 === 淡江大學 === 日本研究所 === 86 === The rapid recovery of the japanese economy after World War II is closelyrelated with its labor-capital relations. Comparing the japanese enterprise-basedunions to the industry-based unions in other countries, it is unique that theJapanese unions cooperate for lifetime employment and on a seniority wagesystem. Years after the crash of the "bubble economy", Japan''s status in theworld has not changed. As a result the thesis mainly discusses how enterprise-based unions play their roles in the relations between labor and capital. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The second chapter analyzes therelationship between japanese labor and capital, and discusses the interaction inenterprise-based unions, labor and enterprises. The third chapter introduces theconnection between GHQ and enterprise-based unions, and also brieflyintroduces the history and the development of Japanese labor unions. The fourthchapter discusses the significance of enterprise-based unions. The fifth chapter demonstrates hwo the enterprise-based unions cope with the challenges from thepolititcal parties, enterprises and labors in the 1990s. From the above, we conclude:1. the movements of labor unions must spend more efforts on the policy of completely employment and national economy.2. Enterprise- based unions should respect the individuality of the union members and provide good communication to build the members'' independence.3. Japanese labor-capital relations need to expand nationally in the future.
