Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 景觀研究所 === 86 === From the perspectives of environmental psychology and social psychology, this research explored the concept of attitude which was formed by the continual process of mental development and was composed of cognition, affection and conation. It also investigated the relationship between physical environment of a park and conatio 4N] attitude toward environment. Moreover, this research was to find the relationship among visitors'' demographic characteristics, environmental attitudes of park visitors, the degree of inappropriate behavior, and the acceptance of inappropriate behavior management. The results showed that park visitors with different demographic characteristics would form different environmental attitudes which affect their acceptance of inappropriate behavior management. In this research environmental attitudes were divided into two conceptual categories: environmental concerns and environmental ethics. A 21-item Likert scale was used to measure visitors'' environmental attitudes. A factor analysis of these items resulted into four factors--ethics of environment, cognition of environment, identity of environment, and actions of environmental protection. Further analyses showed that park visitors'' demographic characteristics were related to each of the four factors of environmental attitudes. A cluster analysis of 21 items of environmental attitudes was conducted to divide visitors into three groups: those with high, medium, and low environmental consciousness, respectively. The management of inappropriate behavior were divided into active and indirect management, passive and indirect management, active and direct management, and passive and direct management. Through factor analysis the variables representing inappropriate behavior management were divided into six types--propaganda and communication, law-prosecution and prevention, practical participation, active admonition, normalized use, and self-disciplined. The results of canonical correlation analysis indicated that park visitors'' environmental attitudes were significantly correlated with acceptance of inappropriate behavior management. The visitor groups with different environmental attitudes and the different physical environment of parks have an interaction effect on the acceptance of inappropriate behavior management. It was also found that there was a difference among park visitors'' with various demographic characteristics in regard to their acceptance of inappropriate behavior management types. It was concluded that promoting the positive environmental attitudes and improving physical environment of parks will positively affect park visitors'' acceptance of inappropriate behavior management. To contribute to the visitor management and park planning, strategies for promoting visitors'' environmental consciousness and the management of inappropriate behavior were also suggested.-1 -aFrom the Aspect of Park Visitors''Environmental Attitudes to Study the Managemenu Strategies of Inappropriate Beiavior -!A Case Study of Taichung City
