Although there were some accomplishments on this field duringthe past,the schAlars only emphasized the communicative models rather than the political issues. Thus, this research uses the theory of political communicationto explore the reporting models of political issues between the Cross-Strait official media. It also emphasizes the difference of reporting models upon special events in order to analyze the transformation and profound implication of the Cross-Strait policy makings. This research comprises five chapters and seventeen sectio It uses the content analysis as the researching methods. This research collects 810 samples by random from "Central Daily News" and "People Daily News"(1988-1995).These samples are analyzed by the statistical methods of frequency distribution, chi-square test, analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA) etc. There are six important findings as follows: I.The quantitative difference of reporting methods are not able between the Cross-Strait official media.II.The origins of news of the Cross Strait official media are unrelated tothe reporting political issues. However , the dealing methods and special events playimportant role of influencing the reporting.III.The information of heading and the dealing methods of news is irrelevant to the political issues.IV.The official media has been escaping the report framework of ideology.It gradually focuses the reality of the news.However, we also find that the official media pay attention to the reporting talks between the Straits.V.The top leaders'' statements in the official report are particularly not able. It shows that the leaders of the Cross-Straits highly involve in the process of official report.VI.The special events of Cross-Straits issues influence the quantity and the model of reportingnews. In other words, the outside environment is the major effecting factor. In short, this research use the quantitative technique and experiential analysisin order to focus the difference of reporting models upon the research is quite different fromthe past due to the different researching targets, analytical methods, and restrictions. Nevertheless,this different way of research, distinguished from the traditional methods of study, should be helpful to establish the analytical model on the field.
