The empirical research is conducted following the hypothsis developed from the research structure. The procedure in the offset printing industry includes "Per-press", "Press", "Post-press process", "production planning and control", etc. Based on this procedure and its dual dimensions of "thchnology density "and "integration anong technologies", the AMT portfolio in the offset printing industry is categorized into "Hihg Automation" and "Low Automation". This research also label the management features of automation implementation based on the integration of automatic grouping, the resource involvment of technology and operation adjuxtment, and formalization of automation implementation. "Manufacturing Capacity" indicates the performacnce of technology implementation.   The hypothesis is proven through the questionnaire and statistical method. The results are as follows:   1. The routinization of the industry with high AMT portfolio is higher than that of the industry with lower AMT portfolio.   2. Manufacturers with high AMT portfolio have significantly better manufacturing capability that those with lower AMT portfolio, if the impact that routinization has on manufacturing capability is also taken into consideration.   3. Manufacturers with highly routinized managerial mechanism have significantly better manufacturing capability than those with less routinized managerial mechanism, if the impact that AMT portfolio has on manufacturing capability is also taken into consideration.   4. Manufacturers with high AMT portfolio and exercise highly routinized managerial mechanism have far better manufacturing capability than those with other combinzations. The manufacturing capabilities are about the same when the combinations are either of high AMT portfolio and limited routinized managerial mechanism, or low AMT portfolio in conjuction with highly or limited routinzed managerial mechanism.   Lastly, based on its theory structure and empirical findings, this research paper proposes ideas as to how the automation and management practice in the offset printing industries can be realized and what direction a further study in the future should take. 李興才 1998 學位論文 ; thesis 103 zh-TW
