can't submerge the author's sentimental style abd limpid
analysis. The book didn't cause the public's
attration and research until 20th centry.
After reading this article,I was attracted by Madame Merteuil.
Although she write less letters in the book, she shows
more diversity. In a male-dominantsociety, she tries to break
through the tradition thought to women. In order to stand in
that society, she has to lie and cheat. She uses inveracity to
fight with the injustice between male and female. And she has to
depend on a strong self-control process to endure the
difference between verity and the affection. This disquisition
follow the develope of "self-control ". There are three parts in
this disquisition.
Analysing Madame Merteuil's speach is the topic of the first
part. According to the way she wrote to different people,
readers can realize her diversity personality and her
duplicity. By solving Madame Merteuil using the power of "
words" , readers can understand the way she deceive and control
people.
