The mechanical properties of the bone cement weretested by MTS (Material Test System).The results indicated that by increasing the low molecule weight and low viscosity diluent ,such as MMA and TEG-DMA, the mixing characteristics can be improved but the mechanical properties were not improved. The mechanical properties and mixing characteristics were improved with decreasing Bis-GMA.The particle size of the solid composition increases the viscosityof the bone cement with little effect on the mechanical properties. The polymerization temperature are decreased and the setting time are increased with decreasing Bis-GMA composition.The mechanical properties are improved with added TCP composition.
