The main load carrying elements of BIB were made of A572 steel. The lateral support systems were made of the combination of plates, tubes and angles. The result shows that the BIB has stable hysteresis curves without pinching. The lateral support system which made of the combination of plates, tubes and angles sufficiently prevents the BIB from buckling. The shear type dampers were made of low yield strength steel. The result shows that the dampers have stable hysteresis curves and energy dissipation capacity. The dampers still provide load carrying ability after serious buckling and cracks.
