Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 資訊工程學系研究所 === 86 === As the data are highly compressed in MPEG-2, bit-stream errors will result in
a great degradation to the video sequence. The objective of this thesis is to
recover high-quality MPEG-2 images from corresponding corrupted MPEG-2 images,
without increasing the transmission bit rate and modifying the standard coders
.Based on the smoothness of common image signals, the damaged blocks are ident
ified by a generic error detection technique. After the damaged block is deter
mined by error detection, we try to recover each damaged block by minimizing t
he intersample variation within the block and across the blockboundaries. That
is, the corrupted DCT coefficients can be recovered by sloving a set of linea
r equations. The simulation results show that the quality of the recovered seq
uence is subjectively acceptable.
