uter networks introduced in recent years. The important thing is to propa
gate information digitally. Digital information is reusable, and can be shar
ed with others via INTERNET. Thus a boundless society is formed. Nowadays,
in the working environment of office, letter and document are handled very fr
equently. Letter has become e-mail, but how about document? The topic of this
thesis focuses on discussing current e-mail system and how to extend its funct
ions to be an autonomously integrated information manager system. This is incl
udes the extension & integration of SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), POP3
(Post Office Protocol Version 3), NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol) and f
ax modem functions (TAPI, Telephony API).
