Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 物理學系研究所 === 86 === Several models for pion nucleon scattering which incorporate the dynamics of pions, nucleons, and deltas are used to extract the properties of delta from e xperimental data. They include the resonance energy, dressed and bare delta ma ss as well as the resonance pole position. A method to calculate the position of the resonance pole from our models is presented and discussed. The coupled channel approach is used to treat the pion(-)+P and pion(0)+N scatterings to e xtract the properties of delta(0). Using the extracted parameters, we study th e mass splitting between delta(++) and delta(0) due to the isospin symmetry br eaking effect. Our results agree will with the widely accepted PDG's values, but do not fit with newer VPI's data. Further study is needed to understand this dis crepancy.
