As a result, the problems of risk management are getting more and more essential. From the viewpoint of risk transferring, the conventional approach of " Contractors Provided Insurance Programs(CPIP)" has result in many disadvantages such as increased insurance cost, inconsistent insurance terms, the problems of responsibility attributing. Therefore, it enables the Owner-Controlled Insur This study analyzes the characteristics of OCIP and defines the content of OCIP by means of literature reviewing. The advantages and drawbacks of OCIP & CPIP are then compared and concluded. This research coordinates the benefits and general guidelines of OCIP. In order to help the owners choose an appropriate insurance strategy, a cost-benefit model is established in this study. Finally this study utilizes experts- questionnaire for examining the theoretical benefits and empirical guidelines of OCIP.
