However, lack of experience and practice of this process is available in the native industries. In this study, we designed a mold and a slug heater on Universal Testing Machine for thixocasting. Experiment had shown that (1) Shorting the slug heating process to avoid the increase of superficial oxide and coarse of grains. (2) Shorting the filling process to avoid slurry presolidified and induce a lack of fill. (3) Runner should be smooth enough for filling and breaking superficial oxide. (4) The temperature of mold has to be upto 150℃,but amang 150℃ and 200℃ , there are no significant effect on filling behavior. (5) Thermal couple and temperature transducer should be calibrated near working temperature. (6) The components of the specimen approach A356 alloy, but melting temperature were lower. S.H.
