First, value sets of general uncertain polynomial family are investigated. In analysis aspect, a unified approach based on the concept of value set was proposed to analyze the robust small gain, robust strict positive real (SPR) property and robust absolute stability problems of uncertain systems. In design aspect, a lead/lag compensator design procedure is proposed which is parallel to classical design and applicable to more general uncertain plants.
