Italso seeks to assist social workers and practicum studentsin analyzing ethicaldilemmas encountered in their day-to-day practice.The research begins by revi-ewing theoretical and philosophical perspectivesfor ethical judgments and dec- ision making which are particularly relevantfor professional social workers. To accomplish the above research objectives, a sample survey wasconducted withcross-section of practicing social workers,studentpracticum supervisorsand so- cial work students, both at the undergraduateand graduate levels. The survey utilized a revised version of the Dilemmasin Practice(DIP) instrument which isin the initial stages of developmentby Holland and others.This instrument uses case vignettes to measure theethical judgment tendencies of social workers on three continua :Autonomy-Mutuality, Internal-External and Means-Ends.
