Summary:碩士 === 國立台南師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 86 === The main purpose of this study was to investigate the life style and career maturity of visually handicapped students in junior high school in Taiwan. Participants complete the instruments of BASIS Inventory(a life style instruments) and Career Maturity Inventory(CMI)(n=190). Thus this study constructed the norm of life style of visually handicapped students. The data was analyzed with t-test ﹑one way ANOVA﹑and Multiple Regression. The results were as following:1.There were significant differences between male students and female students in the theme of ."Going Along" on BASIS Inventory.. Female shows higher levels of orientation to follow the rules than male.2.There were significant differences between the last birth and the meddle birth. in the theme of "Wanting Recognition" in BASIS Inventory. It showed the last birth with the stronger desire to search for achievement.3.There was no significant difference between differ grades in any theme of BASIS Inventory.4.There were significant differences between the low vision students and the blind students in the themes of ."Belong-Social Interest" and "Wanting Recognition" in BASIS Inventory. The low vision students shows higher levels of social interest and desire to search for achievement than the blind students.5.There were significant differences between the students studying in Chiming School for the Blind and the students studying in the ordinary school in the themes of ."Belong-Social Interest" and "Wanting Recognition" in BASIS Inventory. The further shows lower levels of social interest and desire to search for achievement than the later.6.The study found no significant differences of career maturity between different "sex"﹑"birth order"﹑"grade"﹑"the degree of visual impairment" and "education settlement".7.The study found the students with higher score in the theme of "Wanting Recognition" got lower career maturity than those who with lower score. It shows the more interpersonal distance(high score) , the less career maturity. Besides the further﹐there were no significant differences of career maturity on the other themes of life style .8.There were no significant differences to predict career maturity with different "sex"﹑"birth order"﹑"grade"﹑"the degree of visual impairment" or "education settlement".According to these results suggestions on the implementation of career guidance in visual handicapped students and the research for further study were proposed.
