Many small- and mid- enterprises are formed to be an integrate part of the industry. These companies rely heavily on electronic data interchange with their cooperating companies for the quick response to the market needs while keep the production cost low. This thesis presents the Configuration Management (CM) data model that complies with the international standard of product data exchange (ISO10303). Further, the algorithm of electronic assemblability analysis is developed, which verifies the CM data to ensure valid product revisions and engineering changes. This research focuses on providing a neutral and international data model that will bring bring the global virtual enterprise to reality. By using the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) method, the system can be accessed on a remote PC, and acquire the desired product data.
