Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 86 === Communication, Computer and Control Systems''are three essential parts of a complete Distribution Management System. Automation of power distribution systems requires the use of an effective communication system to transmit control and data signals between control centers and a large number of remotely located devices Many communication schemes have been applied to distribution system, and the power line carrier (PLC) has exhibited capabilities for practical use. Line noise is a serious impediment to PLC communication, In order to relive the effects of noise on the communication quality, spread-spectrum modulation is adopted in this study. Research topics included in this thesis are; analyzing communication characteristics of distribution system, developing PLC communication modules which use spread-spectrum modulation, testing on practical systems and analyzing effects of various power equipments on the communication. Two applications of the developed PLC communication module are tested. First, the PLCmodule is used to identify the linkage information of distribution transformers and their customers. This information is useful for transformer load management. Second, the PLC module is used to test its capability in controlling home appliances.
