Pure xenon samples at different pressures ranging from 1to 100 torr were excited by the process of one photon absorption in the wavelength region from 105 to 160 nm. The normalized absorption spectrum of Xe is well defined under the conditions of static background in the gas cell. The emissions of Xe2 excimers including two well known types of continua (the first and second continuum) and VUV fluorescence of the first and second continuum emissions in the wavelength region from 115 to 135 nm have been observed. The near infrared emissions due to the 6p→6s transitions have been also measured. Qualitatively, the results that are discussed in terms of pressure dependence and excitation wavelength are in agreement with those in the literature. Kuo, Chi-Tong 郭啟東 1998 學位論文 ; thesis 60 en_US
