Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 護理學研究所 === 86 === Many researches have proved that infertility brings large impact on both infertile individuals and his/her family. Based on statistics, the number of infertility has be increasing these years; therefore, it is important to pay more attention to the infertile couples. As to how to care for the infertile couples properly and considerately, we should take it into the consideration to individual''s difference between the infertile couples, and it should have further research if different infertile factors are the main factors to cause the difference between the infertile couples. So the purpose of this research focuses on the psychosocial responses influence of the different infertile factors on the infertile couples. The problems of this research are to (1) compare the differences on the psychosoical responses between the infertile couples whose cause of infertility is either on the female''s part or on the male''s part. (2) compare the psychosocial responses influence of different infertile factors on husbands or wives of infertile couples. (3) recognize variables on the psychosoical responses influence on infertile couples. One hundred and thirty-eight infertile couples ,who can be divided into three different kinds of groups. The three different kinds of groups are male infertile couples(53 couples), female infertile couples(43 couples) and both/unkown infertile couples(42 couples). They answered the psychosocial aspects in the infertile couples instrument which was developed by the reseacher. This instrument consisted of six parts which included the Demographic Data, the Infertility Questionnaire, the Marital Satisfaction Scale, the Sexual Feeling Scale, the Stress Scale, and the Coping Strategies Scale. The results are as follows : (1) The scores in the Infertility Questionnaire got by husbands and wives show significant differences in female infertile couples. Husbands'' scores are lower than wives''. This indicates that husbands'' distress are less than that of wives''. For Self-esteem/Self-image and Guilt/Blame subscales, the gender differences are also statistically significant in female infertile couples. For Sexual Life subscales, the gender differences are only statistically significantin male infertile couples. The scores in Marital Satisfaction Scale and in Stress Scales for husbands and wives had significant differences in all infertile couples. This indicates that wives'' satisfaction in marriage is less than that of husbands''and wives'' stress is higher than that of husbands''.The scores in Sexual Feeling Scale for husbands and wives have significant difference in female and both/unknown infertile couples. This indicates that wives are worse than husbands in sexual feeling. At last, there were no the different in genders in Coping strategies Scale. However, in Increase Space subscale, the gender defferences were statistically significant in female infertile couples. This indicates that wives use more frequently than husbands in the strategies of Increasing the Space. (2) In terms of husbands'' scores, the Stress Scale and the Coping Strategies and subscale''s Increasing the Space and Regain Control show significant differences. In terms of wives scores form the infertility Questionnaire, the Stress Scale and subscale''s self-esteem /self-image, guilt / blame, Increasing the Space and Being the Best Subscale show significant differences. (3) Variables on the Psychosocial Responses influence on the infertile couples indicate that the older a husband is, the less feeling in sex he has; besides, Taiwanese''s use of strategies are more frequent than those of Mandarins. Low-educated and low-paid people have more troubles on the infertility. The longer for the cure of infertility an infertile couple have, the worse feeling in sex an infertile couple have. Also the infertile couples'' marriage will be destroyed little by little. Husbands who agree the ideas of In Vitro Fertilization have more pressure. About the ideal number of childern, husbands who expect only one child have less feeling in sex. In terms of females'' parts, the older a wife is, the less feeling in sex she has. Wives who has no jobs feel more troubled than wives who have jobs. Low-paid wives aren''t satisfied for marriage and the longer time for the cure of infertility, females will feel more pressure and exhausted, and they still influence on the sexual feeling and relationship of marriage. Women who are in the process of curing, either by Artificial Insemination with Husband''s Semen or by In Vitro Fertilization can have higher pressure. At the end, in multiple regression to adjust some other factors about the characteristics of infertile couples, I obtain the following results:(1) The factor about different types of infertility explains that husbands'' the Stress Scale and the Coping Strategies Scale and wives'' the Infertility Questionnare still play very important roles. (2) Based on husbands'' the Coping Strategies Scale, it indicate that Taiwanese or Madarins or how many years the infertility lasts for also play an influential role. (3) According to the Infertility Questionnaire answered by females, it indicate that jobs play an important part for the infertile females, besides the factor about different types of infertility. That''s to say infertile woman with a stable job has less pressure than an infertile woman with no job. This research dose systematic comparison and analysis among different types of infertile couples. And this research can offer more valuable information to doctors and nurses who well take care of the infertile couples.
