碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 護理學研究所 === 86 === This research is to explore the experiences of mothers in the care of their hemophilic children. By using participant-observation, the researcher contacted the mothers and obtained their trust. Individual interview was arranged and audiotaped under natural circumstance. The experiences from eight mothers were collected and analyzed by Giorgi phenomenologicalmethod. The results were integrated to into five phenomenological themes : (1) hurtful to the maternal role due to afraid of losing children from the threat of the disease, losing hope of raising healthy children, guilty feeling of being the carrier of the disease; (2) a solitary sufferer due to inadequate support from the family, heavy economic burden, the feeling of being isolated; (3) the anxiety of uncertainty from accidents, child infections, and the uncertainty of the child*s future; (4) maintaining a stable ego by ceasing self-blaming, self-reasoning, trying to cope with the fate, seeking for support, bearing and revising hope; (5) expectation for children''s future through self-equipping for child care and instruction, weighing the seriousness of matters, setting up good examples for the children to follow so they may enjoy their lives. This research provides individual nursing guidances, which may facilitae the development of culturely sensitive nursing intervention, and contribute to the establishment of a well-organized hemophiliac medical care system.
