This study adopted stratified random cluster sampling. The sample was consisted of 944 elementary school students. In order to reach the purposes, there were four tools for this study: "Children''s Family Status Questionnaire","Child-rearing Styles Questionnaire", "Children''s Locus of Control Scale", and "Children''s Self Attitudes Questionnaire". The data then were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, T-test, one-wayANOVA and multi-stepwise regression analysis. The obtained results indicated as following:1.The self-concepts of elementary school students were just good.2.The self-concepts of elementary school students were significantly different by sex.3.There was no significant effect between grade and children''s self-concepts.4.The higfer academic achievement was, the more positive self-concepts had.5.There was significant effect between social economic status and children''s self-concepts.6.There was no significant correlation between family structure and children''s self-concepts.7.There was significant effect between child-rearing styles and children''s self-concepts.8.The self-concepts of elementary school students were related significantly to locus of control.9.Students'' backgrounds, child-rearing styles and locus of control could most effectively predict the six dimension of children''s self-concepts. The overall variance were 10.80%, 13.31%, 16.72%, 28.35%, 22.16% and 29.31%. According to the results, some implications on self-concepts and the futureresearches were suggested at the end of the paper. 王以仁 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
