Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 管理科學研究所 === 86 === Ever since the commercial application of the Internet was rapidly developed, the WWW has become the most important information medium for the enterprises. Most large-scale enterprises have connected to the Internet through the application of Web-based technology and set up their own internal network (Intranet). However, most of the data in these enterprises, daily operation are still processed under the Legacy Information System. Consequently, two types of information system, based on the old and new technology respectively, concurrently exist in many enterprises, which led to the result that the two systems and data can''t be mutually shared and integrated. Thus, it is the most important and difficult task for large-scale enterprises to integrate the Legacy Information System with the Internet, Intranet and Extranet on the purpose of information integration andfurther development. The Web-Based System Integration Model (WBSIM) was derived from study probing deep into the methodology on information system integration. Basedon the Web-based technology and the Internet/Intranet/Extranet architecture, this model is to integrate the two above-said information systems by means of prototyping method. So that the customers, employees and business partners can reach the information flow just like through one information system only. This research also includes a case study on a large-scale enterpriserelated to the problems and requirements of its information system integration, and its integration strategy. Eventually, by applying the WBSIM and underthe blueprint of the information environment of the case, an initial prototype on integration, the Perfect Information System (PIS), was designed so as to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of WBSIM.
